Each claim is unique, but most follow these four steps:

1

Report a Claim Online

Tell us what happened. You’ll receive a claim acknowledgement with important information specific to your claim - including your claim number and claim adjuster contact details. Keep this information handy.

2

We Contact You

Your claims adjuster or POM claims partner will contact you within 24 to 48 hours to gather additional information, such as photos, receipts and fire/police reports, and will schedule an inspection (if necessary).
Weather-related catastrophe claims may take more time.

3

Your Claim is Reviewed

Our Claims Team reviews your coverage and the specific details of your loss. Inspection reports and estimates are assessed if requested on your claim file.

4

We Settle Your Claim

We will notify you when your claim is settled. If your claim is approved, you’ll receive quick payment by check, pre-paid card, or ePay, which allows us to deposit your money directly into your bank account.
Subject to policy forms and conditions.

What to do after a property loss?

  1. Stay safe: Remember that personal safety is the top priority.
  2. Photograph the damage: Take pictures to document the full scope of your claim.
  3. Make emergency repairs: Protect your home from further damage and remember to keep receipts.
  4. Obtain repair estimates: Get estimates from licensed and insured contractors.
  5. Don’t throw anything away: Do not dispose of anything until advised by the adjuster.
